Saturday Run
Every Saturday (rain or shine), we meet at 8:30 at the Reservoir parking lot. Following
brief announcements, we’ll run 2-3 miles together, regroup, and then split into two
groups, for total distances of 5-7 miles and 7-13 miles. Typically, we also have a smaller
group of hikers. No runner is left behind. After the run, all are welcome for brunch at
Holder’s.
Adventure Runs
To encourage trail exploration and familiarity with the extensive Bay Area trail system,
we organize a quarterly Sunday run in another park, typically 7-10 miles. We have run in parks from Rancho Cañada del Oro to Mt. Tam, Henry Cowell to Mt. Diablo, and across San Francisco.
Predictive Run (Spring)
Our club president secretly chooses a 5-7 mile route, which is revealed after we all meet at the Villa Maria Picnic Area. Each runner predicts their time to complete the route, and the winner is the person with the most accurate prediction (use of watches for pacing is disallowed). This run is followed by a potluck picnic at Villa Maria, and the winner of the predictive run receives a small prize. Note: This event is open to all, but only club members are eligible for prizes.
Clam Bake (late Summer)
Traditionally, this has been our Skyline-to-the-Sea run (including a shorter option for Big
Basin to the Sea). While Big Basin heals, we are running at Wilder Ranch. Either way, the run is followed by a potluck picnic and homemade clam chowder on the beach.
Reservoir Run (Saturday after Labor Day)
This is our annual ½ marathon, 11k, and “lollipop loop” race, in Stevens Creek County
Park and Fremont Older. Following the race, there is a barbeque at Villa Maria Group
Site. The race is open to all, and club members receive a discounted registration.
Holiday Party (December)
Guests dress in “Ultra”-formal attire (no running shorts, but race buckles encouraged)
for an evening of fine dining and entertainment. This event is open to all, and club
members receive a discounted registration.
Christmas Eve Run (December 24th )
We run a mid-day 9-mile loop in Rancho San Antonio County Park. Festive attire during
the run is encouraged!
For events other than our recurring Saturday run, more details are posted on our publicly – accessible Facebook page ahead of the event.
